In this article, the question of the causes of Jeffrey Epstein's years-long impunity, the American financier accused of organizing a network of sexual exploitation of minors, is examined. Based on an analysis of the chronology of investigations, court documents, and expert conclusions, a mechanism is reconstructed that allowed the offender to avoid real punishment for more than one and a half decades. Special attention is paid to the factors that ensured his impunity: privileged social status, ties to the elites, corrupt deals with prosecutors, and systemic deficiencies of the American justice system.
