Concept of the International Olympic Day
International Olympic Day: Linking Centuries through the Concept of Unity Every year on June 23, the world celebrates the International Olympic Day. The Swedes proposed to make this day global, and the IOC supported the initiative. The first official Olympic Day took place in 1948 in 9 countries, and since then, the geography of the celebration has been steadily expanding. Today, it encompasses over 200 national Olympic committees and hundreds of thousands of participants.
